My "Expressway Night"

I'd like to called tonight as my "Expressway Night". Spent about 1 1/2 hours on the passenger seat with my cousin Pidah (who was driving by the way) to Putrajaya and back again to KL using different expressways. Both of us has no purpose of going to Putrajaya. Infact we don't have any direction at all after we left Jusco Maluri for a quick shopping (too bad we went there a day before Jusco sale start). Neither wanted to hit home just yet nor have any idea where to go, so finally decided to cruised around city centre. We left Maluri through Kampung Pandan roundabout when the idea of "experimenting" the newly open expressway to Putrajaya came through our minds like the bright lighting bulbs. Both excited to be on the fresh new black tar.

About KL-Putrajaya Expressway

The KL-Putrajaya Expressway or KLPE (formally named KL-KLIA Dedicated Expressway) is stretch on a 26km long route that opened to traffic on 13 December 2007. Currently still toll free until tomorrow (pheuh...lucky us). The toll rates are yet to be announced. This expressway doesn't actually exit at Putrajaya but at Cyberjaya where you'll find landmarks after the Putrajaya interchange to be MEASAT building on the Left and TMnet building on the right. It took about 20 minutes on leisurely speeds to reached Putrajaya. Spent few minutes enjoying night visions of Putrajaya from the side road before turning around and hit the highway again.

Be alert on the entry point of this expressway from Cyberjaya. We meant to followed the same route back to KL but somehow missed the interchange on Putrajaya Link and ended up being on North-South Expressway Central Link (better known as ELITE highway) all the way til NKVE interchange at Subang. The toll rate was RM7.50. We then followed the NKVE (North Klang Valley Expressway) to Mont Kiara Interchange that lead us to Jalan Istana. Dang the traffic jam at Jalan Loke Yew after midnight. The bottleneck detour really pissed us off...took almost 10 minutes to drove through only 3-4 km road.

I love the night view along the expressway especially the scenic neon lights on the mid divider we seen from the road bends and flyovers. Unfortunately I failed to captured great images as I am yet to master my fe-230 Olympus digicam. This is the best I managed to snap:
