My 2 Cents on the Post Election

So...we can put to rest the idea of Pak Lah taking full responsibility on his party failure to retain 2/3 majority in parliament. He did not feel sorry for his lose and he will not apologize to the people of Malaysia for his lack of sensitivity and credibility to run the country.

He just assumed the prime minister office for a second term this morning in what I believe a humiliating outcome for him. He surely made records of his own achievements. In 2004 he led the 90% landslide victory for BN, the highest ever in Malaysia history and this year he barely made 60% lead, the lowest ever in our history. This year BN won only 140 of the 222 parliamentary seats and 307 of the 505 state assembly seats. In 2004 election, BN won 198 of the 119 parliamentary seats and 453 of the same 505 state assemble seats.

A Short Note to PM

Assalamualaikum Dato' Seri,

You might still be in shock for the blow in your party after the election. Nothing you can do to clean the mess you've made. You ignored the voices of your people previously and the consequences are inevitable. Malaysians had spoken in silence through the votes as protess to your negligence to listen and inability to assessed people's need.

From now on please do the PM job you wanted so badly. They saw that you can't managed this country by your own and they knew your friends didn't helped you much to cover your acts before. Now that the people brought you their own representatives to help you in making decisions, work with the other parties they chosen to build back Malaysia.

Some do's for you :

1) Do improve your boring speeches. Brush up you communication skills and public relation etiquettes (didn't you noticed people around you yawned and banged their head on the walls or tables whenever you spoke? Most of them just don't bother about your presence. Asked those reporters and journalist).

2) Do work on your self presentation. (You do looked so weak and tired almost all the time. I know you got married to an active lady and a hyper-active son-in-law to care for. So take up some suppliments or do light exercises. Hire a trainer. Eat more healthy food or a gain-weight product if you must. Oh ya...eat tempe everyday for a glowing face as suggested by Thir Toyo) .

Some Don'ts for you :

1) Don't plan on another honeymoon...(I mean on your job laa...not your marriage which you can go once every 5 or 10 years but also not every year laa...)

2) Don't go for on-the-job leisure holidays...(you had enough fun for the last 4 years whattt. People already accused you for using their money intead of your own income to cover the expenses tau!).

3) Don't agree on interviews with international media especially CNN if you're not prepared or you can't find suitable suit for the occasion.(I can't face seeing you being humiliated by the interviewer. You will lose your credibility.

Thank you for reading this post...now I want to go back to my normal life. Life goes on...

Tun Dr Mahathir's Post Election Press Conference Transcript

You can read the transcript of Tun Mahathir's post election press conference taken from MalaysiaKini here.

I just want to highlight few of his comments that I find interesting:

Are you surprised by the results?
I think it’s shocking. Although I expected BN to lose but I did not think that they lost five states.I'm sorry that I made the wrong choice in Pak Lah. (You are forgiven...but the damage is done. Can't turn back time.)
I never expected a PM to reverse all the policies of the government. So I think the people on the whole must have been very angry. All the three communities, the Chinese, the Malays and the Indians, have reacted.

When you say ‘step down’, do you mean (from) Umno or PM?
I think he should (step down). The Japanese would have performed ‘hara-kiri’. I think that Najib (Razak) has done very well. He has scored an amazing victory, more than the 2004 elections. (Pak Lah will never leave his throne Che Det even if he is being pressured by everyone around him. And we are not ready for Najib to be our PM.)

Umno has retained more seats compared to the other component parties like MIC and MCA. Will they pressure Pak Lah to step down?
That depends on them to whether to apply pressure or not but the Barisan Nasional concept is still relevant. If there is no (MIC chief S) Samy Vellu, then find another Vellu.

What were the issues which led to the loss of the states?
Many issues led to the pent-up feelings of the citizens of which despite the economic growth, the people aren't feeling anything. They feel the rise in the cost of living a big factor. (We fed up of rising price issues in petrol and consumer products. The 6% economy growth is worthless when the inflation almost reached 2.5%)
They also see that this government is run by one family. When family takes precedence over cabinet, over government, then people will be against it.
(Yep the KJ issue...so tired of all this chronicle theory which sounded so believable and I actually bought it coz they seem to fit perfectly well)

Can you comment on Zam (Zainuddin Maidin)?
He won or lost? Oh, he lost. Well, the way he was campaigning was really funny, telling people to look at his face and how it doesn't change. But I think that a face that doesn't change can be very boring. Sometimes you must laugh, sometimes you must cry.He was telling everybody "Ini muka tak bertukar, tak bertukar". Who is interested in his ‘wajar’? If he was Britney Spears, then... (hehehe...good one Che Det! Serve him right for being kacang lupakan kulit.)

Will you return to active politics?
I won't return to active politics but if they want advice, I can give them. How can I return when once I stepped down they treated me like a pariah? (I agree with your decision. Don't jump into the fire of today's politic. You already leave an unmatched service record and I wanted it to remain a great legacy. However I do feel very sorry for what they did to you. You've done your best...tho you could do better actually. Let us see what happen next)

12th general Election - BN won Simple Majority

Been watching the election results on TV and cross ref with the online results since 8:30pm til 4:30am. Just finished discussing with my pet bro bout the greatest defeats in Malaysia history for BN in this election. I am now reading news and the analysis...3 minutes to 6am and not a single yawn. I am enjoying this moment...altho at the same time I fear the uncertainty that awaits my beloved country on how would this election shape the future administration.

Yes BN will form the government without clear mandate. Its gonna be tough for them but a very good lesson learnt. We, Malaysians had done our parts in sending messages to Pak Lah and his administration that we need pro-active changes.

Ghee...to be honest with you I am still in shock of what I saw tonight as I heard/read the results that were flowing right infront of my eyes. I did wished for BN not to repeat their landslide victory but I never expected they would failed to secure the 2/3 majority...and more surprised when opposition takes 5 states. Kelantan is a gone case for so long but for the opposition parties to rule Penang, Kedah, Selangor and Perak is too much to swallow. As for Wilayah Persekutuan, 10 parliamentary seats won by Barisan Alternatif enough to bring BN on the brink of humiliation. This year's general election mark the new era to Malaysia's political scenario. I am hoping for the best.

With all the chaos and confusions surrounded me and my family as we sat together sharing info and thoughts, Tun mahathir's name popped up from our mouths more than dozen times. Personally I felt sorry for my hero...and I was wondering what went through his mind at that moment of time when Kedah fell to PAS and Penang to DAP. Also...congrats to Mukhriz who won in Jerlun and Nurul Izzah's victory over Shahrizat for Lembah Pantai parliamentary seat. I'm so proud of both of them...mind the different umbrellas but I'm happy to see new faces carrying big names after their own. Good luck to both of them!

Here's the result taken from http://www.bharian.com.my/ as of 4am:

6:30am now....so I think its time to say goodbye for now and prepare myself to bed. Its going to be a quiet morning in the house til noon coz both my parents and myself are off for our good morning sleeps after bersengkang mata the whole night...once every 4-5 years ok la kan...hehehehe

Taking My Time Off From Blogging

I lost appetite to blog although I've got so many things to write about: the coming general election, American Idol, Manchester United matches which I lag behind, my passions on good food and everything that revolve around me.

This week didn’t start out on the best note for me and the passing days seems to weaken my spirit. I'm on the verge of breaking down. I am down but I still hanging on, trying to keep myself in the bright light...physically, mentally and emotionally. Thankfully I have such great family and few good friends around to make my life less misserable. I know there are others out there struggling with themselves and their lives more than I do, but right now at this moment of time I feel like I'm useless in a way that I can't make sense of the life I'm living.

I've decided to take time off from the blogging world to collect my thoughts. Blogging has become part of my life and the place I feel comfortable to be in these days besides Jusco Maluri. I come to term with the fact that cyber space is just a reflection of reality and I've been dedicating too much of my time inside it...and little by little it has taken my sanity away and built my ignorance towards the so called "real world".

Ghee I'm lost in my words...so I better stop now before I completely write junkies...I'll be back...

Signing off...Thanks for your support in reading this blog. Appreciate it :)

Weekend's Food Images

Been a while since I posted home-made food photos. So here's some of it that I managed to snapped:

Mushrooms soup(left) and Fishbballs Soup (right)

Savoury Fish(left) and Spicy Prawns(right)

Cucur/ Cekodok Ikan Bilis or Anchovies Fritter

My mom made this dish on saturday evening for tea time.

Buncis tumis Tempe & Masak Lemak Cili Padi Kobis Masin (Dunno how to translate hehehe)

Popiah Udang / Prawn Spring Rolls

My favourite dish...i always made my very own popiah for guaranteed satisfaction. I like it full filling (made of carrots, sweet turnip or sengkuang, mushroom, bean sprouts, potato and prawn). I surely will not find all these ingredients together in a bought popiah so had to make the popiah myself liao...

There are some more photos but I think these will be enough for this week...
